Pastor Gabi became part of the Faith Lutheran Church community in February 2026. FLC is her 5th call after serving in congregations in South San Francisco, Cupertino, and Citrus Heights, as well as with ELCA Global Mission in Hyderabad, India, where she taught post-graduate theology students. She studied theology in Berlin, Heidelberg, Jerusalem, and Berkeley, graduating with a German master’s degree in theology and a Ph.D. in Church History. Through the end of April 2026, she is serving as dean of the Capitol Valley Conference. In addition, she serves on the synod assembly task force and our synod’s companion synod planning team (focusing on our Lutheran siblings in Rwanda). Prior to serving in congregations, Pastor Gabi worked at in non-profit fundraising and as an interfaith hospital chaplain. FLC piqued her attention because of its intentional embrace of diversity and its thoughtfully written mission, vision, and values statements. She looks forward to contributing to the life of this community through creative worship leadership, teaching, strategic planning, stewardship work, and collaboration with the surrounding community.
For fun, she loves to travel and to dabble in metal smithing, graphic design, and all sorts of arts projects. Before her knee got injured in a car accident, she also loved to tend after her steeply sloping garden, chickens, and bees. Her family includes her daughters, Naomi and Anna, and two dogs, Neela and Henry, as well as a bunch of in-laws in Southern India. At this point, she commutes from her home in Fair Oaks but plans to move closer to the church by the fall of 2026.
