Janine Dexter—pianist, conductor, and composer—grew up in the San Francisco North Bay Area where she spent the early years of her career conducting pit-orchestras for music theatre groups, playing piano for various churches, conducting youth choirs, teaching music at a performing arts high school and piano at a private studio. Janine has served in music ministry at Faith Lutheran Church in Meadow Vista since 1995 as pianist, organist, composer, arranger, conductor and strives to create varied music opportunities for all ages. Bell Choir, Adult Choir, Exploring Music and Orff training for children, Wind Ensemble, Legacy videos, Threshold Choir and youth vocal leadership training—preparing youth to lead the singing in worship—are among the programs she has offered to the FLC community. She is the Founding Artistic Director of Colla Voce of the Sierra based in Auburn and is the conductor for the Colla Voce Chamber Singers. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with emphasis in conducting and piano performance from the University of the Pacific, Conservatory of Music, and a Master of Music in choral conducting from CSULA.
