In 2017 our congregation took time for intentional conversation about what it means to be a welcoming community. In addition to one-on-one conversations and small group discussions we invited one of our partners in ministry to lead us in a bible study. After many months of discernment the congregation voted at our annual meeting (January 21, 2018) to adopt a new welcoming statement and join the coalition of Lutheran churches who are known as Reconciling In Christ.
Welcome Statement
Wherever you are on your faith journey, you are invited to walk with us.
We welcome people of every age and size, color and culture, financial circumstance, sexual orientation, gender identity, and relationship status.
We welcome all without regard to addictions, physical or mental health, past imprisonment, or anything that too often divides us.
We welcome contemplative thinkers and spirited children. We welcome believers, questioners, and questioning believers.
As a community of the people of God, we are committed to being a welcoming church, centered in the radical love of Jesus Christ.
You are welcome here.
